Nurse Coaching Relationship 

 

Dependable Wellness Coaching is provided by Jean Brittain, a licensed Registered Nurse  (California License #529344) and Board Certified Nurse Coach. Coaching services are offered in a health and wellness coaching capacity, consistent with nurse coaching standards of practice, and not in the capacity of direct clinical nursing care. Participation in coaching does not create a nurse-patient, nurse-client, or any other clinical relationship. No clinical nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or care is provided through this coaching relationship, regardless of the coach's licensure or certification. 

 

The coach is licensed as a Registered Nurse and subjects her to the California Nursing Practice Act and to the jurisdiction of the California Board of Registered Nursing regardless of the coaching context. Describing these services as “coaching” does not, by itself, change how that Act or the Board's regulations apply to her conduct. 

 

Scope of Services 

 

Dependable Wellness Coaching does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Coaching services are limited to education, accountability, and lifestyle guidance and are not a substitute for clinical nursing care, medical care, or mental health treatment. Dependable Wellness Coaching provides services to clients located in California. Clients located outside of California acknowledge that coaching services are not being provided as a regulated nursing or healthcare service in their state of residence, and should confirm with Dependable Wellness Coaching whether services are available in their location before engaging. 

 

No Endorsement 

 

Dependable Wellness Coaching does not endorse any specific tests, physicians, products, or procedures. Links to educational content not created by Dependable Wellness Coaching are taken at your own risk. Dependable Wellness Coaching is not responsible for the claims of external educational resources and companies. 

 

Confidentiality 

 

Dependable Wellness Coaching, LLC is not a covered entity under HIPAA, and information shared through this website or general educational content is not subject to HIPAA protections.  Because Jean Brittain is a licensed Registered Nurse, some information may nonetheless be subject to the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (Civil Code Section 56 et seq.), independent of HIPAA. Dependable Wellness Coaching maintains client information as confidential and does not share it with third parties except as required by law, as reasonably necessary to provide services (for example, through scheduling, payment, or communication platforms), or as otherwise agreed in writing. Clients who engage Dependable Wellness Coaching for Nurse Coaching services receive more detailed confidentiality terms in the Confidentiality Agreement that is part of their signed Nurse Coaching Agreement. 

 

Assumption of Risk 

 

By participating in coaching services, clients acknowledge that coaching is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment, and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including risks arising from decisions made based on coaching discussions. 

 

Limitation of Liability 

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dependable Wellness Coaching's total liability arising from or related to the coaching services shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the services giving rise to the claim. Dependable Wellness Coaching shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. 

 

Nothing in this disclaimer will limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury resulting from gross negligence, nor will it limit or exclude liability for fraud. Nor will it limit any liabilities that are not permitted under law or exclude any liabilities that may not be excluded under applicable law. 

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. 

 

General 

 

If any provision of this disclaimer is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
